With 25th and 40th Anniversary Corvettes could we pass on the 50th year?!!?

That's us during the Museum Delivery of our Z06

Of course not!  We had initially planned on a 50th Anniversary Edition but as we learned the details of "the most collectible Corvette yet" (a quote from Dave Hill in a "Vette" magazine article) we were disappointed.  The 50th AE had paint very similar to the 40th Anniversary Corvette, and the interior was straight out of my wife’s STS.  Then it became apparent there would be neither Pace Car edition nor a Z06 in this golden anniversary year.  We talked it over several times and finally my wife asked “Can we get it in yellow?”  “Hmmm” how about a Millennium Yellow Z06?” I asked.  “OK” says she, and we were off to place the order.  Needless to say the Z06 is an awesome car!  I’m often asked which car I like better, the ZR-1 or the Z06.  That’s a tough question to answer – the Z06 is more “civilized” in many respects, it should be, it’s got 10 additional years of Corvette engineering behind it.  We’ve driven it on several weeklong trips and have absolutely no complaints.  The Beast is more in-your-face raw power – it’s got some modifications and puts 380 HP down at the rear wheels.  But, when we get that Procharger installed in the Z06… who knows!

One option I recommend to anyone purchasing a new Corvette is R8C, Museum Delivery.  You can learn more about this at http://www.corvettemuseum.com/ncm_delivery/index.shtml but suffice it to say it’s an experience you’ll never forget!  Not only do you get a complete behind-the-scenes tour of The Museum, but a very in-depth plant tour as well.  Wendell Strode and the staff at The Museum do a superb job, if you aren’t a NCM member I sincerely hope you consider joining.  Like that old ad says... "Try it, you'll like it!"
